Information about the Megara System used in the "Statues" storyline. Information is constantly being added through the various mission arcs.

The System

- The Megara System is located in the Alpha Quadrant, and about 2 sectors away from Starbase 214.

- The system is about 151 light years from Sol (84 days at Warp 7, 54 days at Warp 8). It is about 40 light years from SB 214 (22 days at Warp 7, 14 days at Warp 8) .

 - There are 3 planets catalogued in the Megara System. Only one of those planets is inhabited, Megara.

- It is located about 14 days at Warp 8 from SB 214.

Space activity

- There are no known anomalies in the area. In fact, the system is not much known by SF. The system is rarely visited by ships that are just using the space to pass through.

- The Paula Greene detected a microscopic tear in space where the USS Anamudi had stopped. About 5 hours since the PG arrived in the system, the tear opened up and the “unknown energy” within the tear started to act us as if the particles were getting alive. After a few minutes, the tear was big enough to let a shuttle go through. When the craft goes back in, the tear quickly goes back to its microscopic stable size.

Planet Megara

- Megara is mostly an agricultural society that started to explore technology more than 20 years ago. Megara was introduced to warp about 10 years ago when the Ferengi and SF entered the system and made contact with them. They don't have warp capabilities. They have a few crafts that are comparable to planes and earth space shuttles. About 10 years ago, the Ferengi "toyed" with the Megarans so they would have a more sophisticated technological society. The Ferengi turned honest hard-working people into vicious xenophobic killers. The Ferengi's attempts were stopped by SF, and the Megarans eventually went back to their agricultural ways. But they began to explore even more technology and its benefits.

- Megarans have weapons of the 20th-21st turn of the century, minus atomic or nuclear weapons. Ferengi introduced them to more powerful weapons but SF had the Megarans return the most deadly ones, only letting them keep weapons that were similar to those Megarans had already developed.

Megarans

- They look like Terrans but have 4 fingers per hand and same for toes. They are all dark-haired and brownish-skin-toned people. Since their main activity is agriculture, they are strong-built. Illnesses on the planet are similar to what was current on Earth in the 1980s. Cures are less advanced as they only started to develop more technology-wise in the past 20 years, with a surge about 10 years ago. Organs are comparable to Terrans.

Ships in the system

- Only 2 SF ships are currently in the system: USS Anamudi and USS Paula Greene.
